Well, everyone knows diabetes…

The behind-the-scenes actions, work, people, discussions, and prayers that eventually led us to the creation of AnchorWell still feel amazing. I was having a conversation with a fellow nurse practitioner when she said, “Well, everyone knows diabetes.” As someone who has worked closely within the diabetes community for the past 12 years, my response was, “No, everybody has heard of diabetes, but nobody truly knows diabetes.” And that was it. That was the seed that has now grown into AnchorWell.

My sister and I started with the belief and understanding that 1) Diabetes is very misunderstood, and 2) Unless you are referred to a diabetes specialist for education or treatment, no one has access to the comprehensive diabetes and health promotion education that we can offer.

In developing AnchorWell, we also realized people today simply do not have enough time. When you see your health care provider, there is not enough time in the visit to cover everything that diabetes encompasses. Living your busy life and trying to complete your never-ending to-do list amidst work, family and life demands, you also do not have time to always schedule additional office visits or block off three hours of your afternoon for diabetes education. If you are newly diagnosed, you will be inundated with pamphlets, brochures, and black-and-white written text, all of which can feel like information overload, leaving you to feel overwhelmed. That is why we are offering comprehensive, grounded, practical diabetes education online -- so that you can learn on your own time schedule, in the comfort of your home. Our calm and gentle approach to diabetes education will kindly guide you to living your best life with diabetes.

Welcome to AnchorWell.

Hi, I'm Meg Fitzpatrick

CoFounder of AnchorWell

I am a reader, runner, traveler, friend, connoisseur of yummy food, I love romantic comedies, and adore interior design. My favorite personal descriptors are mom and wife and, without a doubt, my family is the most important thing to me.

I have over 20 years of healthcare experience, starting as a patient care technician working through college, to working in the hospital on the floor as a nurse, to working as a nurse practitioner for more than a decade.

My thirties have been a journey (understatement), diabetes is a journey, life is a journey -- everyone is on their own journey. It is because of my journey that I have learned, grown, and discovered the tools, tips, and tricks which I now want to share with you.

I am passionate about helping people live their best life, and I say with confidence that it is because I am anchored well in who I am, in what I believe, in what my priorities are, and in how I believe in living that I am able to be content in my life, full of gratitude. I have had the honor of listening to, sharing with, discussing, and learning from people with diabetes throughout my career, giving me all of their knowledge to share with you as well. I firmly believe that every person matters. Every person deserves to live their best, healthiest life. Outside of my family and faith, I am most passionate about living an intentional life and helping others live their best lives as well. That is the whole goal and purpose behind AnchorWell. I am so glad you are here.

Let us help you find yourself, find your health, find your anchor, and ... AnchorWell.

A little bit about me, I have been married for almost 15 years to my best friend and better half, Warren. We have four beautiful daughters together, my Little Women, and more pets than I care to admit. I have my bachelor’s degree in nursing, and have spent over 12 years working at the bedside in a hospital setting. I am passionate about health and wellness.

When I am not racing around taking care of my four girls, you can usually find me working out on my Peloton treadmill or running outside. I love how running makes me feel. Running is the one thing that I do just for me. It empowers and invigorates me! I want everyone to experience that feeling. This does not mean that you have to start running to feel amazing.  It’s just an outlet that has worked for me.

At AnchorWell, our goal is to help you make those personal changes that will give you control of your life. Your journey is your story.  Let’s work together to find your anchor, know yourself, and live your best life! AnchorWell.
